Answers to common questions about MMI and industrial machinery solutions.
MMI starts by scheduling a visit to your facility for a free, on-site asset assessment. After evaluating your equipment, we provide a tailored solution based on your specific needs and timeline. We offer two paths: a Direct Cash Purchase or an Auction with a Minimum Guaranteed Return. MMI manages the entire process, including lot tagging, photography, listing, marketing, sales support, equipment pickup, logistics, and financing. Our professional team handles everything. We require very limited involvement from you while we do all the heavy lifting.
A Direct Cash Purchase means MMI buys your equipment outright. You receive 100% of the agreed payment on a set date, typically within 30 days of signing. It is a single-buyer transaction that is simple to manage, easy to coordinate, and ideal when speed and certainty matter most. An Auction Proposal works differently. You participate in the upside of a competitive market while a minimum financial guarantee protects your downside. MMI partners with you throughout the process to deliver the maximum return on your surplus asset sale. We present both options clearly and help you choose based on your timeline, asset type, and financial goals.
Timelines vary depending on asset volume, facility size, and your required exit date. MMI has completed full facility liquidations in as little as 30 days, as with PCX Aerosystems in Long Island, NY. For larger or more complex facilities, the process typically spans 60 to 120 days. We work backwards from your deadline and build a detailed plan around it.
Yes. MMI has executed liquidations across North America, including a 200,000+ sq ft facility in Monterrey, Mexico for Sanmina. We coordinate import and export logistics, duty clearance, and transportation so buyers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico can participate confidently. Our team manages every cross-border requirement on your behalf.
MMI takes a dual-channel approach that traditional auctioneers do not offer. Our team of 10 or more experienced sales professionals begins actively marketing your top 20% of equipment immediately after agreement signing. This secures retail-level pre-auction sales that significantly boost your total return before auction day even arrives. For the remaining assets, MMI deploys a multi-channel marketing strategy, including paid digital advertising and direct outreach to a database of 700,000 or more qualified buyers across two auction platforms: Machine Tool Bids and BidSpotter. This approach increases bidder participation by up to 40%, driving stronger competitive bids on auction day.
Yes. For auction engagements, MMI provides a minimum financial guarantee before the auction begins. This gives you a protected floor on your return regardless of the auction outcome. You keep full exposure to the upside of competitive bidding while eliminating downside risk. MMI's incentives are fully aligned with yours because we earn more when you earn more.
